Harvest Lanterns sets tall fat-quarter rectangles beside crisp accent diamonds, with slim sashing between the rows and an inner and outer border to frame it all. Every row is made the same, and every other row is turned upside down, so the little diamonds step across the quilt. Make it in warm rust, gold, sage and pumpkin prints like the colorway shown, or in everyday florals for a quilt you can use all year.

A Cozy Home for Your Fall Fat Quarters
For the look shown, mix rust, mustard gold, sage green, tan and cream autumn prints such as small flowers and pumpkins for the tall rectangles. Add bright pumpkin-orange accent diamonds, a cream background for the corners, sashing and inner border, and a deep chocolate-brown outer border. Directional prints work too: the pattern shows how to cut them so every design stands upright.
The product images show a fabric-colorway and styling idea in the Lap size. Construction diagrams in the PDF use neutral sample colors. Fabrics are not supplied; choose your own fat quarters and yardage to create your version.
Project Details
Finished sizes (approximately, as listed in the pattern): Lap 44 1/2″ × 58 1/2″ · Throw/Twin 54 1/2″ × 74 1/2″ · Queen 74 1/2″ × 90 1/2″ · King 94 1/2″ × 106 1/2″.
Main fabric: 6 fat quarters for the Lap, 9 for the Throw/Twin, 17 for the Queen and 26 for the King. Fat quarters must measure 18″ on the selvage edge, or additional fabric will be needed.
Techniques used: Rotary cutting, corner-square piecing for the accent diamonds, 1 1/2″ sashing between rows, an inner and outer border, and binding.
Materials: Fat quarters for the main rectangles, plus yardage for the accent diamonds, accent corners, sashing and inner border, outer border and binding, with backing, batting, thread and standard quilting tools. Exact amounts for each size are listed in the PDF.
Format: Digital PDF in English. Read it on screen or print it on US Letter or A4 paper. This is a rotary-cut piecing pattern; it does not include full-size templates.
